Jasper's Nursery Reveal in Style at Home Magazine!!!!!

Today's an exciting day around here because I get to reveal Jasper's nursery!!!

I feel incredibly honoured that the fabulous folks over at Style at Home thought his room magazine worthy and am beyond thrilled with how the spread turned out...

Even more exciting, the actual story itself was written by yours truly...such a dream come true to be given the opportunity to write a feature article...couldn't be more tickled about the whole thing.

I'll be sharing  more photos of Jasper's actual room in the weeks to come but for now, here's a peak at the magazine images...

A GINORMOUS thank you to all the incredible editors/writers/photographers at Style at Home...so delighted to be even a small part of your amazing team!

And to everyone who as already left such sweet comments on FB, Twitter and Instagram...giant, giant kisses and love- means the world to me.

Style at Home and #projectgetroomsreadyforkids

It's a new week folks...first full one in February no less.

The date is actually freaking me out large.

My big kid comes home for spring break in two weeks...and bambino is due in about a month- all of this means that our basement needs an overhaul...like yesterday.

So...we've started a bit of a project...we'll call it #projectgetroomsreadyforkids

The work has started with the rental of a giant PODS container for the front yard...

Lots of junk/furniture/odds and sods will be placed in it today.

As well, a dumpster is coming...and YES, my front yard is going to look mighty fine for the next month or so- ha!

By the end of day, I hope to have an empty playroom/bedroom and hallway.

The next step will be flooring.

We're thinking of running something fun carpet wise down the stairs and then doing a grey oak laminate for the basement.

Something like this...

Example of Dove Grey Oak Flooring used by Cox Workshop

I also have plans for many many built ins, doors for the laundry room and perhaps a little furniture here and there.

Much will be happening in a VERY short time...I've got two weeks to make most of it happen.

Stay tuned.

Before shots coming in the next couple of days.

In the meantime, I've got two things:

1. The Kanetix giveaway is being drawn TODAY!!!!

Style at Home - THE REVEAL!!!!!

It's a BIG GINORMOUS day here at B&B...one that I've been waiting to share with you for a looooong time.

My copy of the January issue of Style at Home magazine arrived yesterday...

...which means: a. I couldn't be happier/more excited/honoured/ecstatic b. I can share photos of my house/#pkg with you!!!!!

So, without further adeu, here's the spread...and yes, there are photos of #pkg too...I have TONS more of the kitchen all saved up though so check back next week Tuesday for a full out #pkg reveal...

To see my home in print and presented in such a beautiful way...well it's just simply beyond explanation.

A HUGE thank you to the Style at Home team (Erin, Tara, Ann-Marie, Donna, Catherine and Jen) for putting together a piece that so perfectly reflects my space.  And of course, a giant hug to Meredith for her amazing work on #pkg.

This whole thing...

DREAM. COME. TRUE.

My Living Room is on the Freaing COVER and #projectdining

I was minding my own business on Twitter yesterday when my friend Vanessa up and posted a sneak peek of the January issue of Style at Home...and then I proceeded to drop dead...

I mean I seriously almost had a heart attack.

That's my living room on the cover!!!!!

Holy shit.

I knew something was going to be on the there but for some reason, I just assumed it would be the kitchen.

To think that something I designed completely on my own was cover worthy...well, it just all makes me so incredibly grateful/humbled/ecstatic....so so honoured and amazingly happy.

A HUGE thank you to the amazing team at Style at Home who put my feature together...truly, this all means the world to me.

The issue is due to hit shelves on the 10th of December and comes complete with a pretty generous spread of my living room, foyer and yes...#pkg...there's also a little DIY feature on my poodle chairs and a hardware story of some kind.

So...if you are in the US and want to see it, click here to subscribe- I think it's about 25 bones for the year and definitely so so worth it...the magazine is absolutely my favourite shelter mag...not that I'm biased or anything;)

In other news...

Work continues on #projectdining.

I sent off the first official design board to my client yesterday...

...which included a modern/clean sort of look in shades of grey, white and black...with a little lilac thrown if as an accent.

Take note of the grey and brass chair on the top left...we scored a set of 4 of them on Etsy...

...for an incredible price...je suis in love.

Along with the chairs, we're thinking of a settee, modern lighting combo of some sort and I reeeeallly want the corner of the space to house that amazing Oly Studio bust, which is PS available for purchase over at Shop 219 and is PSS, at the VERY top of my Christmas 2012 with list...I mean I need that sucker in my house... bad.

I'd also love to see all three window walls completely covered in sheers...and a bar cart of course...every space needs one of those.

After sending the board off and apres a few email exchanges, we sorted out that the space wasn't big enough for an oval table, even though it was our first choice so instead, we're considering re-finishing an antique one my client already owns...I'm envisioning a raw wood finish like the one in the board below...we're also considering some other lighting plans...I'd love an antique chandy over the table and modern pendants in the kitchen.

Something like this...

...or this...

We shall see.

After putting this one together, I sort of want it all for myself.

For all you seasoned designer peeps, does that always happen?

Is being jealous of other people's plans a constant job hazard?

Hum...

Thinking this gig could be dangerous for my pocket book;)

And with that, I'll say ta for now.

Don't forget to enter my Charles Emerson giveaway if you haven't already...I know you want in on some of this action...

Draw happens tomorrow.

BIG NEWS!!!! Project Kitchen Gorgeous and 219

As promised, I'm sharing some mucho large news today.

To begin with, I am BEYOND excited to let you know that #pkg will be revealed in the upcoming January issue of Style at Home magazine...that's right...after all of those teaser posts and months of waiting, the big show is only a few weeks away.

Oh and not only with the kitchen be showcased, but other parts of my house are in there too.

Yup...count me as someone who couldn't possibly be happier!!!

The big issue hits shelves on December 10th and for those of you not in Canada, I'll definitely be sharing some of the photos here on the blog, and will also roll out other #pkg ones I've taken along the line.

In the meantime, make sure you all check out the Style at Home December issue- first off, there's a little sneak peek of the kitchen (shown above) and what's more, there's an extra long article from yours truly...this month's piece includes a list of my absolute favourite blogger art shops, along with a few other fun cyberspace tid-bits...here's a peek...

So hope you like;)

Oh and if you aren't already a Style at Home subscriber subscriber (a whole year is only $24.95), you should be...my international friends can totes get the magazine delivered right to their door...worth it.

And speaking of things you want/need (and PS, this news is also making me do back flips,) I am so so so excited to share with you my collaboration with the girls over at 219.

As you know, their new online shop is launching TODAY!!!!

And PS, it's farking AH-MAAZING....

The above is just a small sampling of the gorgeous that's being sold over there.

It's good...like really, really good.

And well, it seems as though I get to have a fabulous piece of the action.

Yes indeedy....yours truly is going to be selling a capsule collection of sorts over on Shop 219!!!!!

I'll be rolling out some smaller pieces at first and will eventually launch a whole section of B&B finds.

For now, I've got two listings up in there....

Numero uno is a tiger velvet pillow that's piped and backed in blush pink Schumacher velvet.

And the mirror...that's a fab art deco inspired piece that I hope you love.

As I said, these are just the tip of the iceberg as it were...I've got plans that involve furniture and fur and gold snakeskin and...soooo much more.

Opening some kind of shop has long been my ultimate dream goal and I couldn't be more honoured to be starting it off with the girls over at 219...though we haven't met in real life yet, our numerous Skype chats have pretty much convinced me we're girly soul mates.

Now click over to Shop 219 and buy up my capsule goodies AND all of the 219 glamazonia.

I promise you're house will look prettier.

And with that, I'm off to dream of the celebratory drink I wish I could have at the moment;)

The Style at Home Limited Edition Collection

As I mentioned yesterday, I was up and out at an ungodly hour yesterday but it was all for good...I was lucky enough to be invited to the preview of Style at Home's new Limited Edition Collection...and PS, the morning did NOT disappoint.

First off, as you know, I am now contributing the magazine so I obviously think the people there are the cat's ass...it was so great to see/meet all of them in person.

On top of that, the media preview was held at the new Trump Towers and well, it's glorious...

From the lobby...

...to the most perfectly glamorous elevator doors in history...

...to the bathroom of my pregnancy induced super vivid dreams..

...to the ridiculously high 12' ceilings...also in said dreams...

...to the moldings...sweet, sweet moldings...I wanted to lick you up...

...well...it was all just heavenly.

I actually came home and jumped on MLS convinced that I could totally jam 4 kids into one room if it meant owning all of the dreamspace above (not that I could ever afford it anyway but whatevs...I was pipe dreaming) ...and then I remembered that mama needs more rooms to decorate, not less...so that plan went out the window.

I digress.

Not to be outdone by the hotel itself, the Style at Home collection was/is tres tres bien.

There's silky sheet sets and duvet covers...

{PS, note the amazeballs price}

{PSS, the pink sheets must be owned by me}

...graphic pillows...

...and gorgeous pitchers, trays and bowls..

...and towels...fluffy, fluffy ones.

All total loveliness.

And because my pictures are sort of not that awesome, here's how the professionals view the pretty...

sah-collection-ceramic-vase.jpg

sah-collection-tray-cake.jpg

sah-collection-bedding-bella.jpg

sah-collection-throw-pillow.jpg

sah-collection-bathroom-towels.jpg

Gorjusssssssss.

I now am the lucky owner of a set of those fluffy lavender towels and as I said earlier, simply must snap up the pink sheets...truly, they feel like zillion dollar ones...so so good.

You can purchase any of the goodies seen above HERE...but only while supplies last and once they're gone, they're gonzo so yes...the time is now my friends.

A giant thanks to everyone at Style at Home for including me in the fun yesterday- such a treat!!!
