If You Want It, Black Rooster It #17, #projectwholehouse Updates and My Saturday

Wohoo...Friday has come...thank gawd!

I've had one heck of a busy week and happy to think about tomorrow coming...more on that towards the end of this post;)

Up now though...

It's exciting times around Black Rooster because the store has just introduced beds to their line of furniture fantastica...so in honour of that, I've put together a BR version of this bedroom oasis...

Pretty sure that one day I'll need a mirrored headboard-love the antiquing on this BR beauty...accessorized with some solid black and/or graphic pillows and a soft rabbit throw, you have the makings for one heavenly bed.  At the foot of the bed, this lacquered desk/console is perfection...especially when accompanied by this grey column lamp and soft velvet stool. Alongside the desk, the

  French inspired chair makes for the perfect bedroom seating area...especially when placed atop BR's plush Dutch Berber rugs.  And of course, what master would be complete without a little nude sketch action...though I'm usually opt for 'feminine' nakedness when it comes to art, this dude is indeed rather fetching.

In other news, #projectwholehouse got some real purdy goodies this past week.

For one, the Currey and Co Bevilacqua chandelier arrived, courtesy of the uber fabulous/I'd be a shell of a decorator without them 219...

...and I have to say, she's bloody perfection.

 Speaking of things that are damn near religious...behold Stark's Leopard AX in silver...

...let's just say she was worth the wait.

These two most lovely additions mark the almost completion of the foyer...we have some accessorizing to do and then she'll be ready for her official 'after' reveal...stay tuned on that front.

And finally, I have to brag a wee bit about the super amazing Saturday I'm about to have.

For one, I can't wait to spend the day here...

...catching up with my long lost blogging buds and learning a thing or two while I'm at it...good times

And after that, I'll be zipping home to get ready for the official launch of my daughter's show...

For everyone in Canada, the show will be premiering with 4 episodes...

Family Stuff, the Projects Continue and a Newbie One #projectfemininegrit

Helloooooooo!

I feel like I'm always apologizing for my absence these days...I'm finding getting blog posts out Tricky McTrickersons lately...I've got a lot of e-design work on the go, ::whispers:: a new pseudo product/business/partnership developing, kids in camp, a baby who is rolling over and teething and not sleeping (but still stealing my heart/attention every second of the day), and a house to build...so I'm basically boobing the baby, picking up the other kids and emailing and/or powerpointing every minute of every day.

All of the above =  fewer blog posts and less brain capacity for most things so....

I think going forward, I'm going to cut myself a little slack and not force the 5 days a week thing- I hope you all don't mind...will try my best to post daily but if I don't, you know why;)

Thankfully, my sweet bubs, who is PS 4 months today (insert mommy very sad face)...

...is having a sweet nap in his swing so I have at least a few minutes to rub together to tell you what's up.

First and most importantly, me and this dude...

...have been hitched for 8 years today...holy bama...feels like FOREVER and barely a minute all at the same time.

If you're reading this Mr I'll say it again...you drive me completely and utterly insane and I wouldn't have it any other way..heart you mucho.

And in other news, I've just sent my newest client her design board.

We'll call this one #projectfemininegrit because after seeing her Pinterest board...

...I knew a) she was total fabulousness in client form and b)...that she probably wanted: dark walls, hits of lilac, a whack of femininity, all mixed together with some spunk.

And with that said, here's what I came up with...

And I'm pretty pleased with the whole thing;)

Stay tuned for progress info/shots...and speaking of, #projectnordic has been making leaps and bounds...all furniture in the design board has been ordered and I literally can't wait to share the afters with you.  As well, we're moving right along with #projectbeverlyhills...after some lighting back and forths, we've decided to now do one fixture and it's looking like it's this guy for the win...

'tis going to be pretty, pretty when all is said and done.

Oh and we're also adding a bart cart because why the hell not right...thinking this guy from BR...

And speaking of things that need adding, #projectwholehouse is very much in need of this incredible mirror that Shop 219 just added to their inventory....

...can we talk scale people?  This nirvana is 90" tall and 72" wide...so so good.

In keeping with beauno things for #projectwholwhouse, three of these bad boys just went up in the foyer...

...and they're delightful...now we're just waiting on the ginormous chandelier for the window and we'll call that space done, done, done.

Client Work

I've been working away on some client goodness.

For one, I'm hoping to see this fab home in Norway...

...made even yummier with this stuff...

Because my blogger formatting makes the board look so winsie, here it is in halfzies...

The split sort of reflects my plans for the room division as well...crossing fingers client likes it.

In closer to home design news, #projectwholehouse has had some prettiness arrive in the last couple of weeks.

Our Black Rooster hide came in and we're trying to decide if we want it in the main entrance or upstairs landing...

...might have to just splurge and pick up another one because I really love it in both spots.

And speaking of love, our Oly mohair bench from Shop 219 also came in...

...and my god she's pretty.

Designing is fun...I like it.

So...I'd like to do it more....which means, if you'd like a moodboard party of your very own....

PS...it's bugging me that this post looks top heavy in the picture department so I'm adding this useless sentence to make it look better/more balanced...we'll chalk that up to slight OCD tendancies;)

Thinking About 7 - #9

I've got so many things on my brain right now that a 7 post seemed appropriate...that way I can do a little bit of everything.

1. #projectdreamhouse

I met with our architect yesterday and we've hit a snag...the lot size may mean the house I want isn't possible...I've got to put a call into the zoning peeps today to see what's what.

So many moving parts in this thing...stress-to-the-full.

On a happier note, the inspiration pot is filling up with so many ideas...my newest obsession is a wide center hallway like this oneg by Windsor Smith...

Love everything about it.
In my house, though, the floor would be done in something like this Ann Sacks divinity...

2. #projectwholehouse
The house I'm working on locally got a fabulous kick in the pants this week with the arrival of some visual comfort bliss...

 Her sons room also got some custom closet doors, thanks to my contractor/moulding expert, along with a plan for accessories/bedding etc...

We're going for an 'inter-galactic/here on Earth' theme;)
3. #projectdownunder
We've finalized all of our choices and have made a few small changes.For one, the new dining head chairs will be these BR guys ...

...and because of a change in layout, I decided to swap out the rectangular coffee table for this piece of HEAVEN from Shop 219...

...could you die over it?
4. I've sent my #projectdownunder client a mirror for approval and I have to tell you, I think I need this for myself.
Inspired by one of my fave pieces of all time, that PS, I could NEVER afford...

...is this very reasonably priced loveliness...

5. Speaking of mirrors...a recent discovery that has me very hot and bothered is these 'Object Trouve'  guys from Codor Design...







I mean really...some of the most beautiful pieces of decor I've ever seen.Sadly, they're WAY over my budget.
I've been thinking of trying a DIY version...surely there's a way to make something 'inspired by' happen.
