Monday Magic Miscellanea

~
Happy Monday MTG peeps,

Today's post is a collection of random Magic the Gathering related miscellanea from around the inter-webs. As we have indicated in the past, if you have interesting MTG news / spoilers, etc., drop us a line and we will pass it along.

First up -
News about Grand Prix Mexico City taking place in Mexico City March 24th - 25th. There are rumours about that Tournament Organiser Necrotower may be in talks with Magic the Gathering artist RK Post to commission a Playmat for the event.

We were very fortunate to meet this artist about 2 years ago and talk with him during the Worldwake Pre-Release event in Toronto. As we can say is that not only is he an amazing artist but a reall decent human being as well. Anywhoos - here's the hub-bub about the playmat -

. . . And here's the Playmat art (Avatar of Woe !)we may be treated to . . .

~
Next up -

If you are crafty and love Magic the Gathering, there is nothing stopping you from making your own jewellery like this MTG fan (sorry - we could not determine who the artist is) who made an Avacyn necklace . . .

~
Next - a quick reminder of Friday Night Magic (FNM) promos -
January - Glistener Elf
February - Despise
March - Tectonic Edge

~
And Finally -

Next time you drop in to your fav Wizards Play Network Store / hobby / game store, walk in styl'n with the latest Dark Ascension card sleves, boxes, and trade binders. Check out MTG Mint Card to pick 'em up.

Artist Love - Kris Lewis

After posting on Monday about this piece of art nirvana...

...a fabulously awesome reader named Rachel, forwarded the information about the artist...this small act makes her rocket to the top of my 'aces people' list.

It turns out that this portrait fantastic is by artist Kris Lewis...

I've been browsing/drooling/lusting after his portfolio ever since first linking over and am just in love...period.

His work is a perfect modern spook...his works are eerie but in the most beautiful way- so my idea of perfect ugly pretty...I hope that doesn't offend him...just in case by the way of the gods, he's actually reading this....saying 'perfect ugly pretty' is a VERY high compliment in my books.

I  dare you to disagree.

Look...

Art bliss I tell you.

Though an original is far from a reality for me at this point, I can maybe afford a print and this one is at the top of my list...

Promise Broken

Yup...she has my name written all over her.

What say you?

Are you in to this modern girly spook?

Perhaps you prefer boy moodiness...Kris does that too...

Either way...if you approve (like I know Jenny does....she's radness in my books)...high fives...we can be friends.

My {official} 2011 Christmas Wish List...A Guest Post at a {llittle} dash of ash

Good morning all.

I'm excited to direct you over to a the very fabulous, a {little} dash of ash.

I'm taking part in Ashley's festive 12 days of Christmas series and I'm day 10...

You can see everyone's amazing wish list compilations HERE.

Mine starts out like this...

And maxes out at 17 items...count me a Christmas wish list greedy guts.

Here's a little glimpse at the first few items...

to see the rest, clickski HERE.

You know I adore Ashley and her amazing blog.

She did a Style in 7 post for me a few weeks back and if you missed it, make sure you have a peak.

And with that, I wish you a happy Saturday.

I'm going to be spending mine running around like a nutzoid persing, finishing off things for the big shoot that's coming up...oh wait...that was a secret...oops...cat's out of the bag;)

And speaking of that, I placed a little order the other day for some art pretty to help complete 'Project Hide the TV with Pretty Things.

It arrived last night.

And I died.

Isn't she divine?

I LOVE LOVE LOVE X a lot.

The amazingly talented Esther Bayer made her.

And she's from PEI so I adore her even more.

You can see more of her stunning portfolio HERE.

And {whispers} you just might be seeing more of Esther and her  ridonculous talent around these parts next week, so keep your eyes peeled.

MFAMB in the House

It's here, it's here.

My Jenny original.

And it's GORGEOUS!

I've named her Maxine.

She hasn't found her forever home yet...thinking right above the bed in our master might be the spot...we shall see.

For now, I had to share some close ups I took of Maxine- she really is a beauty.

And here she is in full {both vertically and horizontally...she's not sure which way she likes to be yet;}

Please excuse the dead roses in the above shot.

Focus on Maxine.

She's just SO damn pretty.

As you can see....Miss Jenny in not just painting for shits and giggles.

Turns out she's BEYOND talented.

And sweet too.

Total girl crush material.

If you were smart, you'd commission a Jenny original of your own before she gets real famous and you can no longer afford such fabulousness.

This lady is going to big places.

Trust me.

And PS, after my Saatchi Online post yesterday, I'm on even more of a ginormous original art kick.

I've been contacted by 3 of the artists already.

God I love talented people who are also nice.

So refreshingly awesome.

All this art is making my shitballs week turn pretty.

Thank you artists.

Thank you Jenny!!!
