A New Blog For Me = MAJOR CRUSHING

I was so happy to find some of my most favourite blogging friends chosen for  the Top 25 Home Decor Blogs on The Vivant...

....definitely a list worth perusing if you're looking for some fabulous decor related blog goodness!!!

While flipping through the winners, I landed on a new discovery...47 Park Avenue...

47 Park Avenue

...owner/writer/editor Michael is officially my new boy crush.

And here's why...

I mean come on.

The black room with pink sofa....

The bathroom with those incredible mirrors, apothecary goodness and beat of a display cabinet....and holy Mother Mary, don't get me started on the chandelier suspended from the dressing wrack...if imitation is flattery, Monsieur Michael should prepare to see his work copy dopied by this missy come dream home time.

And then there's the dressing room...you know how I love an antique etagere filled with shoes...I have plans to take the chinoiserie one in my living room and make that sort of thing happen for Ms Scarlett in her bathroom.

Of course, there's also the overall palate here...you all know I'm a mega fan of black and white and this dude's used it all perfectly.

Oh and I very much appreciate his love for vintage lighting- me and him are defs on the same floating device with that one.  Same goes with the fur stool yumminess...heart much.

Apparently Micheal has an online store in the works with this sort of glory happening....

...and I'm much looking forward...me and that neon sign need to  make out.

And not that I'm surprised at all by this but turns out that Sir Micheal is the owner of Shoot Factory...I've long been a fan of this website which features shoot locations across the world...some major decor inspo there folks.  I wrote about it in this post ions ago (note my early blogging tiny photos and such;)

All in all, you can definitely consider me a new 47 Park Avenue super fan...following with big bazookas on.

A High School House Tour

Morning people friends.

I'll preface this post by telling you that my head feels like it's in a large and menacing vice at the moment, so things are going to be brief up in here.

The head troubles are due to last night's festivities.

I spent the evening catching up with a few friends from high school...some of whom I've literally not seen for 20 years...

...it was good times.

Most of the fun was of course due to the copious reunion/reminiscing escapades.

Some of the goodness though, was thanks to a little house tour apres bar.

The dude in the middle and his amazingly talented partner Rachel sort of blew my mind with their house...absolutely one of my most favouritist homes ever really...so filled with charm and whit and personality and pretty...all mixed masterfully together into one big giant slice of house nirvana....

...I only wish I hadn't been  slightly very inebriated when I took these shots so I could do the place justice.

I'm also kicking myself that I didn't get a better shot of the giant brass railing on those amazing stairs...and the basement...if only I could have shown you that- picture Persian rugs EVERYWHERE, a beautifully exposed ceiling, and art at every turn...so, so good.

If magazines out there are reading this, I swearzies that this home needs to be photographed...truly a little gem of a place.

And with that, I'm going to attempt to remedy my current 'I'm too old to be out until all hours when I have to be up with 3 kids bright and early' sitch with a 'Million Dollar Listing NY' streaming marathon.

Wish me well please;)

I Want This House

Good morning love bunnies.

I trust you've enjoyed a delightful weekend.

Mine was grande...tres busy but good.

For one, I ventured to Halifax for my cousins wedding, which meant a 4 day little tripski with the kidlets...hubster stayed home to take care of the pooch.

I'm actually still here and will be making the  journey back, with 2 kids, 2 car seats, 2 suitcases, and one of me, later today...wish me a giant God speed on that one- oy.

Also, it was my b-day on Saturday...since it was also wedding day, not much really happened on the birthday front, which I was glad for...not too in love with ageing at this point...on the silver lining side, although 37 had a lot of high five moments for me, it also had some rather large shit turds...so,  I'm hoping 38 will be one filled with more smooth/lack of sadness sailing.

Anyhoo...on to Monday.

I came across this house and well, it's my absolute DREAM palace...so, I'm sharing it with you so that you can also feel very jealz of the person who lives here too...and wouldn't you know it, she's also a renowned photographer/artist so she's basically got it all...bitch;)

Welcome to the home of Heidi Bassett Blair, designed by the very talented Christina Rottman...

Crying tears of envy.

Heidi's studio...dying.

The illuminated artboxes in the hallway...dead.

And the art/photography...don't get me started...so much pop goodness.

Oh and the staircase with that long dripping chandy gloriousness...dead and burried.

The whole place is just oozing personality but still manages to be endlessly elegant...I want, I want, I want.

Also, I'd like a Blair 'Eye Candy' piece to call my own...

Hearts, moonbeams and lust.

Want. it. all.

Room Tours: Kristin Lutz's Living Room

Kristin Lutz is a decorator based out of Traverse City, MI. I love these photos of her living room she shared with me. Enjoy!

This is my favorite Oly Studio couch that I got at half price 5 years ago. Now it's on their site for 3x as much. Still love it and have recovered the cushion once in Osbourne and Little fabric. The fun pillows were purchased on etsy.

This was a flea market chair recovered in a david hicks for Lee Jofa fabric. The lucite table was $125 at a local resale store.

Here is my other sofa with its Etsy pillows. I always keep all the big pieces neutral and change out the accessories to keep the look current.

Scalloped lucite side table is from The Paris apartment website, which is chock full of inspiration. And I was just at the Viceroy in Santa Monica, so I am obsessed with greyhound statues. Kelly Wearstler is my design idol and this year, I'll see and stay in 3 of her hotels. They are amazing.

I love this Greek key side table!

This is the view from our kitchen...

I love my sconces!!

I bought the hide rug online. And the coffee table is from HSN by Nate Berkus.

I filled this little niche with a flea market cabinet I painted white and wallpapered the doors with a Thibaut pattern.

Thanks for having me, Jenny!
