OMG Games - Gatecrash PreRelease

Hey there MTG peeps,

Just a final reminder that tomorrow at midnight, Gatecrash PreRelease events will be taking place around the world.  Check in with your local gaming store (here's the store locator), to see what day(s), times they are running events and if they need you to pre-register or reserve  a PreRelease Guild Pack.  Finally, remember to bring along your dices, sleeves, lucky troll doll, whatever and be prepared to have FUN.  Good Luck and may the odds be forever in your favour.

MTG Realm will be snapping pics and taking vid at our local store, OMG! Games near Georgian College, here in Barrie, Ontario  ('bout a short one-hour drive north of Toronto).  Here's the 4.1.1. on the events along with some Gatecrash product shots to get ya salivating.

Format
Sealed Deck — Each player receives one Gatecrash Guild Prerelease Pack to use for building a deck.

Two-Headed Giant Sealed — Each team of two players receives two Gatecrash Guild Prerelease Packs to use for building their decks. (one Guild Prerelease Pack per player)

Each Guild Prerelease Pack contains items designed specifically for the chosen guild.

5 Gatecrash booster packs
1 Guild Booster Pack
1 Promo Card
1 Achievement Card
1 Spindown™ Life Counter
1 Letter from the Guildmaster
1 Guild Symbol Sticker
For this event, players may use the promo card included with the Guild Prerelease Pack in their tournament deck.



Cost & Prizes
$35 For all regular sealed events
4-0 record recieve 14 packs Gatecrash
3-0-1 record recieve 10 packs Gatecrash
3-1 record recieve 6 packs Gatecrash

$60 Two Headed Giant ($30/player)
Beat the Owners in swiss rounds and recieve 2 additional prize packs.  Additional Prizes given out based on attendance. May include Guild Prerelease packs.

5 Guild Special
$150 enters you in any five events and will reserve you 1 of each guild pack for your events.

MTG 2012 Holiday Promo Card

Happy Wednesday MTG peeps, 

Just a titch early this year, Wizards of the Coast has released their 2012 Holiday card. If you are not aware, these Holidays Cards are not tournament-legal but completely fun in foil, which are provide to Wizards’ staff and business partners. If you are not affiliated with WoTC and really, really want to score one of these, don't fret - they do occasionally find their way onto the singles market but expect to pay around $50 for these fun foil curiosities.

WE are extremely happy to once again get this wonderful gift from Wizards!  This year's card is the very witty Naughty / Nice with art by Greg Staples . . .

Avacyn Restored Helvault Promo

Happy Wednesday MTG peeps,

We know we've yattered about the Avacyn Restored prerelease 'Helvault' to no end (here and here), but wanted to remind you that if you were thinking about attending the Avacyn Restored prerelease event, check with your store to see if they will pre-register you as there is a limited number of those Helvaults available and lists may be filling up quickly.  Here's what these things look like in real life . . .

  . . . and here's some flavour and instruction for players and tournament organisersd -

The Helvault is a piece of Innistrad's moon that serves as a prision for the nefarious denizens of Innistrad.  Through the trickery of the demon Griselbrand, Avacyn is also trapped in the Helvault.  During the Avacyn Restored Prerelease event, players will work to open the Helvault, releaseing Avacyn and saving Innistrad.  Players break the seals that are holding the Helvault closed by completing the achievement cards provided by the tournament organiser.  When the last seal is broken, the Helvault is opened.
