Jasper's Nursery Reveal in Style at Home Magazine!!!!!

Today's an exciting day around here because I get to reveal Jasper's nursery!!!

I feel incredibly honoured that the fabulous folks over at Style at Home thought his room magazine worthy and am beyond thrilled with how the spread turned out...

Even more exciting, the actual story itself was written by yours truly...such a dream come true to be given the opportunity to write a feature article...couldn't be more tickled about the whole thing.

I'll be sharing  more photos of Jasper's actual room in the weeks to come but for now, here's a peak at the magazine images...

It's Baby Time

Today I've officially reached my due date and though little guy seems to be very happy staying put, we'll be meeting him for the very first time tomorrow, which means it's officially...

I found out yesterday that I'll be induced because my blood pressure seems to be ticking up a bit and though I really wanted labour to start on its own, I'm so incredibly happy that we'll be meeting our sweet little bundle tomorrow.

I'm also beyond thrilled that for the first time, my sister will be here to share this amazing moment with us...and of course, my parents are also one their way so it's going to be a love filled full house.

And as I wake up this morning with tomorrow so close, I can't help think about how incredible this time is and how very lucky I am...to think I'll soon be the mother of 4...it just makes me so endlessly grateful, humbled and filled with joy.

To be honest, I'm also slightly terrified in a way I've never been about labour/birth etc...not sure why that is exactly but I'm trying to focus on the beautiful anticipation and leave the crappy anxiety at the door.

I'm also going to try my best today to relish the last day that I'll feel the amazing wonder that is 'pregnancy'....this is indeed my final time on this ride, and to be honest, the truth off that makes my heart hurt more than a little but again, I want to spend today wrapped up mostly in the sweet, sweet knowledge that my life is about to change again in the best/most wondrous way.

Though I won't be back here until next week sometime, I promise updates on Instagram, Twitter and the like (all under @bijouandboheme)...and PS, I can't possibly tell you how blessed I feel knowing that you're all out there waiting to here the big news...having somewhere to share all of this journey has made it that much more special and I thank you so endlessly for that.

Weekend Progress - #projectbaby and #projectgetroomsreadyforkids ....Instagram Styles

Well...I haven't had a baby yet:(

BUT...I'm feeling like it might happen soonly.

And since I'm a weird numbers girl, tomorrow would be perfect because it would give Baby J a pretty awesome birthday equation of 3.12.13...break that up and you've got a lovely little palindrom...

Yup...like it very much.

Also, my sister and niece are coming on Wednesday so tomorrow would be ideal.

And if that can't happen, any day before Saturday would also work.

Gods...do you hear me?

Hoping so.

This belly...

...is VERY ready to pop so yes...baby come out time please and thank you.

Moving on.

In an effort to spur the whole baby delivery thing on, I helped my contractor and husband get some things done in the nursery and basement.

And by assisting, I mean that I delegated, instructed and gently enthusiastically encouraged;)

With my help, the boys club was able to...

Install the Hicks pendant in the bambino's room (PS, one of my favourite shops 219 is now offering up VC stuff so if you'd like some of this goodness for your very ownly, go there)...

...put my Fleur Lux paper garland mobile up over the crib...

...get the new sectional put together and placed in the right spot (shop 

Black Rooster for this loveliness)...

...install 3 Visual Comfort flush mounts in the hallway (though I could only get 2 at a time photographed)...

...stick the sink on the wall in the bathroom...

...put the guest room/teenagers bed together...

...and get the fireplace surround, brass bookcases and daybed put in their respective right spots...

PS, thank god for electronic babysitters at times like these.

Our contractors are arriving any minute and will finish the bathroom ceiling so that the rest of the goodies in there can go in.

As well, baseboards and doors are being delivered and will hopefully be in tomorrow.

After that, there will be some painting to finish, a fireplace to install, the laundry doors/track to get in, the staircase railing to put up, and built ins on the opposite wall to the fireplace to install (still debating what to do here).

All is coming together, though there is one hitch I need to solve.

My plan to put our old dining table in the 'playroom' end of the basement might not work...I just don't think there's enough space for it.

So...I need to either buy a very cheap and much smaller round table for the 2 office chairs that have been purchased, or incorporate some sort of built in desk situation into whatever we build on that wall- we shall see.

Also, I am still debating what colour to paint the fireplace and whether or not I want to put mouldings on the basement walls or leave them crisp and perhaps paint with a high gloss oil (did that in the bedroom and LOVE it).

I'll be posting more about the basement's paint selections/decisions very soon, once the space is more put together...for now, let's just say Para Paints has made my basement, and indeed more of my house, MUCH prettier!

As for the nursery, we're just waiting on the daybed to show up and then it's done, done, done.

Excited to share the afters on both fronts.

#projectbaby and Etsy Extraordinary #3

Morning.

It's Friday...this makes me happy...though not as blissful as these two things:

1. Cleaning ladies...I just got one- she was here yesterday for 6 hours and my house...my god- it's glorious...Magda (my lady) will now be my best friend and is coming twice a month to  make me a much nicer person.

2. March...baby officially managed to stay put through my least favourite month of the year and will be born in March- soooo happy about this...my family has like 5 zillion birthdays in February and I don't know- just happy it's a new month and officially less than 2 weeks until showtime.

On that note, the nursery is finally almost done.

I hung up some art last night (and by me, I mean the husband) and now, we're just waiting on the pendant light and daybed to arrive.

Here are some early morning/very grainy ipad shots of the deal...

The Wombat and Woodle prints are making me soooo happy...so much so, that I've commissioned my birth announcements from there as well- can't wait.

Another new addition to the room is the bunny bunting that's presently strung on the crib (and yes, I'll move it when baby is old enough to move himself)...it came from one of my Etsy Extraordinary faves of the week so let's get to that...

This week, we're focusing on textile/tactile related decor goodness...

1. Vintage Bloom Design

So in love with my bunny garland...

...it's made of wool and twine and just all kinds of adorable.

The shop has a bunch of other delights to pick from too...

Cute, cute.

2. Yarning Made

This Victoria, BC based shop makes the most deliciously modern/graphic knit goods for babies EVER.

I've just placed an order for this guy...

...and would pretty much take one of each if I could...

Soooooooo good.

3. Fleur Lux

She had me at hello with the shop name...had bambino been a girl, Fleur was very high on the list.

Anyhoo...baby boy is getting this mobile fabulousity over his crib...

...only his will be done in cream fringe and strung on driftwood.

It was hard to say no to the peach though...just look at it...

Just almost too pretty to take right?

OBSESSED with this one.

Next week, I'll show you some of my babies favourite clothing shops.

Oh but before I go...the Great Sconce Debate.

Right now, these are in first place...

...followed closely by these...

...the brass version of the above is also in the mix but black seems to be a head in the vote count.

I'm leaning towards the second pair...final thoughts?

Baby, Baby, Baby Nursery - Bailey of Peppermint Bliss

Happy Thursday lovers.

I love today because:

1. it's baby check-up and ultrasound time...I get so excited for it every week.

2. it's...

...day and I'm extra excited because I get to welcome one of my designing/blogging idols, Bailey of...

 Now I know you all are well versed in the magic that is this girl's style, aesthetic and keen wit but since I have a minute here, I might as well wax poetically about it/her for just as jiffy.

I'm basically obsessed with Bailey's and her ballzy self.

I adore how she's not afraid of colour or pattern and love her all the more because she always embraces so much whimsy in her designs...I sort of feel like she's my 'pusher' if you will...and by that, I mean that when I'm sitting at home alone with my computer and design boards, images in my head of her home(s) always make me feel insanely inspired...her latest black and marble bathroom for example...it's completely the one I've had in my head forever and if I could, I'd replicate it to a T...total copy cat styles...I'd take the heat for the replication, just so I could revel in the beauty that was my bathroom...yup I would.

Anyhoo...I love her...clearly.

And when she sent over not one, but TWO baby boards, I became that much more enamoured.

I mean really right?
The wallpaper selections along have me all hot and bothered like and I've been lusting after that peach goddess of a Biscuit loveseat FOREVES.
Oh and that malachite dresser in the second board...holy sweet mother of fart.It's all just like a giant chococate popsicle on a hot summer day....yuuuuuummmeeeee.
And speaking of things that taste delicious, #projectbaby got a little kick in the pants yesterday with the delivery of my Mouille knock-offs and hand forget brass metal art...

The lettering is done by an amazing artist named Paul Smotrys (Gauge NYC) that I discovered through a store called Gleena Ceramics.

I was browsing the beautiful selection of goodies from Gleena and came across a series of metal script types but alas, they were much too small for what I was looking for.
A quick email to the shop owner, along with a few exchanges with the artist, and voila...I had my very own, hand made brass script commissioned and on its way.I'm all kinds of obsessed with it.
And since I know some of you really want to know where the sconces came from, I purchased those bad boys at one of my Toronoto favourity 'must hits' for all things interesting/vintage/cool, MORBA.
They set me back about 1/6th the price of the real delios.Very pleased.
And speaking of things that are satisfying me, a huge thanks to everyone who case their vote in yesterday's 'Great Sconce Debate'.
I've tallied the votes so far and it looks like #3 and #5 are in the lead, with #2 and #17 tied for second place, and #6, #10 and #18 rounding out the top 3...we'll see what happens today and I'll order up the winners tomorrow...PS, my favourites were the two hollywood dressing room/light bulb options (#11 and #13)...apparently very few of you agreed with me since they were both tied for 2nd last place:(
