Are you Getting Sick of This Yet?

I'm about to post about #projectscarlett AGAIN...sorry for those of you who are over it...to be honest, since I've been so focused on it these past few weeks, I've got nothing else to talk about.

Well...there's personal stuff I guess.

My doctor's appointment went great...bambino had a nice strong heartbeat and after studying my ass/hips for a few minutes, my doctor threw in his guess that bean is a girl...which basically means, since we all know the basketball/boy vs fat all over/girl theory, that my backside is lardalicious...awesome.

What else...my big girl's high school graduation ceremony is tonight...SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO proud...she's even getting the award that all schools give out for the all around 'gets along with everyone/always does her best/is going places' sort of student...triply proud.  I hope sweet/smart/amazing girl isn't upset when she arrives home this afternoon and finds her room transformed from a teenager's poster ridden lair to a 6 year old's jewelry box...the good news is that she now has the downstairs guest bedroom with ensuite all to herself...I remember what it was like visiting home from uni...I'm sure you all do too...going home was one thing but actually having to see/spend time with your family was another...quite sure she'll be happy for the distance/privacy.

And speaking of that bedroom...the wallpapering is DONE.

Now, all that needs to happen is the curtain installation and the large furniture to go in...I'm off to hand over a wad of cash for the wardrobe later this morning...so excited about it...not the cash output put the piece itself.

The husband will move her bed and dresser over on Saturday, which will leave Sunday for hanging artwork and zhushing.

Monday = REVEAL DAY!

For now, I'll leave you with a few more peeks...and again, sorry for those of you who are sick, sick, sick of this business...I promise something else after Monday and I think you'll like it ::whispers:: free stuff all week because it's my blogiversary;)

{mirror will be hung...not the fabulous hand painted pillow from my sponsor Pillotopia...silk and gorgeous}

{re: pink chair...shop 219 - I LOVE you like Christmas morning when I was 5}

{a few of you have asked about the racks via Instagram...they're $15 dollar cheapies from IKEA...had them sprayed gold...Valspar Brilliant Metal in Gold...also that little brown wooden chair was a gift from big sister...she had it made at her high school's wood shop and it's inscribed with Scarlett's name ...adorable...probably not staying under the desk but there's not many options for placement and it must be in the room}

God speed fellow unicorn chasers.

Thinking About 7 - #3

I'm writing this post at like 4:30 a.m...not idea what the hell but lately I've been getting up at a ridiculous hour.

The positives of this are that I get an hour or so with my computer, a cup of coffee and absolute silence...the flip side is that it makes for one long ass day.

Anyhoo...

Today I've got some random loveliness to share...

1. #projectscarlett is coming together at lightening speed and I have to tell you, I think it's my absolute favourite project of all time...my 6 year old is absolutely getting the glamorous, frilly, pink and gold bedroom of my 38 year old dreams.

If you've been following along on Instagram, you know that the wallpaper started to go up yesterday....

...whoa Nellie

My curtains were delivered (shout out again to my neighbour and bestest design helper friend Hollie)...

...pom poms check...

...valance for over the bed/to conceal the stupid useless window that looks at another house and messes with my bed placement...check.

And at 9pm, thanks to the amazing girls at shop 219 (whose store PS, is going to take you all by one giant sweet storm when it opens), the most heavenly antique pink moire chair arrived...

...chair that really is too fabulous to be in a 6 year old's room/one that I really want to hoard for myself...check.

So all in all, I'm totally/absolutely smitten with what's happened and how the room is shaping up...and completely jealous of Ms Scarlett...lucky little red hed.

2. My favourite local store on earth, Petit et Jolis (GTAers...if you haven't been here, you're missing out on an absolute treasure trove of French antique goodness) has been delivering for me in spades lately...for one, my piece of wardrobe heaven was sent from the gods and delivered there...picking that bad boy up on Thursday.

As well, my other kid's room #projectlittlemiss is getting a fabulous boost from the shop...I met my client there yesterday and picked out a vanity, gold chair and the most divine dresser you ever did see.

Pictures and a full update on that soon but for now, I'll tell you that we're taking a closet, opening it up and transforming in into a little nirvana nook.

Think...

This sort of feel...

...and that kind of side storage...along with some bars for hanging kid pretty...

But with an antique dresser and mirror...which PS, are both WAY more fabulous than the one pictured below...

And closing bi-fold doors...

...that look like these...

{all via Pinterest...sorry for being lazy on the crediting front...can I use pregnancy as an excuse?}

It's going to be puuuuuuurdy.

3. Speaking of #projectlittlemiss...did you all hear about the opening of
Lulu & Georgia?  Hellllloooo rug pretty...my client and I are loving these romantic numbers...

...specifically, the turquoise one on the right.

Though...I'm also debating a Flokati under the bed/pale hid over in the settee nook option so stay tuned.

4. Some of you have been asking about my overdyed rug for the hallway and how I'm going about DIYing such a thing...I'm actually not...I happened upon a little shop that will source the size rug you want and dye it to your specifications...I'm actually featuring them in one of my upcomming Style at Home pieces so mums the word for now but all will be revealed in the November issue, which should be hitting shelves very very soon.

5. As Scarlett's room is getting done, my thoughts are starting to shift to what's going to happen in the nursery...as of now, I'm convinced bambino is a girl but...the big gender ultrasound is in three weeks so I'm resisting really thinking about it until then...sort of...I do have a rough 'if it really is a girl' plan in mind and it centers around the glory that is Swan Lake from Nina Campbell...

Do you see the little hit of lilac in the lily pads?

Well...the room is going that direction...if I get my way;)

And...thanks to Bethany who sent me the link, these lamps MUUUUUUUUSSSSSTTTT happen...

Gah x a million.

7. Although I sort of have a plan in mind re: nursery, I was thinking of enlisting the help of some of my favourite bloggerista's on that front...watch your email box  friends...I might be hitting you with a nursery design board request...you know how it goes:)

And with that, I'm off for now.

Keep your eye out on Instagram for more #projectscarlett sneak peeks today.

Peace out moonbeam lovers.

Weekend Finds and a Change of Plans

Hello friends.

I hope you all had a bueno weekend.

Mine was busy but swell...mostly because I did a lot of sourcing/shopping and well...some REAL goodies were landed upon.

First, after hitting one of my favourite local antique haunts and taking a few pictures of vanity options for my Little Miss client, I turned the corner on my way out and spied some gold and pink hiding from behind a bed frame...upon closer inspection, this piece of total Bijou heaven was unveiled...

...and my knees proceeded to buckle.

It literally is the prettiest piece of furniture I've ever laid eyes on...and the best part, it's a kid-height wardrobe full of shelves on one side and an open section on the other...perfection for my Scarlett's new room since it's technically not a bedroom and has no closet...this thing HAS to be mine...seriously.

Now...since I have no option but to purchase this...really, I can't not...some of my other plans have to change.

For one, Orangie is out...I just can't do two budget benders in one room so, I spent the weekend looking for alternatives.

After showing the 6 year old endless options the only one she admitted to liking as much as fair Orangie, turns out to be one of my long time faves...

...Petal Pusher.

I'm happy with the choice, though I was really trying to sell her on this Flavor Paper...

You win some you loose some...the gold works better with all the pink furniture anyway so it's all good.

So...Now...this wallpaper change sort of makes my original multi-coloured/eclectic dressing room idea fly out the window.

Instead, I'm going to make the place more in keeping with the rest of the house...aka...pink, gold and black.

This is the new plan...

It involves:

1. Petal Pusher on the walls
2. White silk curtains with black ball fringe
3. Her existing bed, which in my perfect world I'd change but so it goes
4. The IKEA malm console that I re-did for the One of a Kind Show...it will go at the foot of her bed...this glorious pink moire chair...

...will sit behind it...and PS, that chair is going to be mine thanks to the amazing new store that the fabulously talented ladies over at 219 are opening...if you haven't checked out their preview of what's to come, you are missing out my friends and must get on it immediately...SO MUCH GOODNESS!!!!
5. The wardrobe bliss will go on the one full height wall beside the door
6. Two new modern/acrylic side tables...have to find these for next to nothing so if anyone has any ideas on that front, I'm all ears
7. The pair of figural lamps I bought last year will stay...LOVE them
8. I just stumbled upon this pink sofa heaven on Craigslist...

...and you'll be mad if I tell you how cheap it is so I won't...hopefully the dude emails me back quickly and tells me it's still for available- cross fingers please
9. A vintage Moroccan wedding blanket...though I really want one of these for my own room so we'll see
10. A Venini chandelier because every room needs one
11. A few open gold dressing racks
12. The West Elm Souk rug that I've been wanting forever...well, S gets it and we brought it home yesterday since there was a 15% of sale happening...

...and PS, if you're considering this rug for your very own, let me just tell you that it's even better in person...so fluffy and soft...love, love, love.

So that's it for that.

I'm hoping to have the room done within the next month so stay tuned...I promise after pictures:)

Moving on.

As part of my Little Miss sourcing, I ventured downtown to my favourite chandelier guy and found quite a few great options for her room...pictures of those finds will be coming on Wednesday when I update the project...for now, I'll show you the piece I found for myself...hello flush mount gorgeous that will be absolutely perfect in my foyer...

It totally reminds me of my dream flusher, the Trillion, only it's vintage (aka one of a kind) and WAY cheaper...win.

There's honestly nothing I love more than finding gems like the ones I discovered this weekend...I'd give my limbs to own a real store and do this sort of thing for a living...and make millions at it.

Oh the fun I'd have....
