Friday Fancies...A Halloween Dream

It's Friday, which means fancy time.

And for this week, we're doing some dreamy Halloween costumes.

With an unlimited budget, there was an obvious choice for yours truly....

and it's all princess, all the time.

I'm envisioning a lot of pretty things for this fairytale.

Of course, it would all start with my dressing room...which would PS, look like this...

Pinned Image

I'd have that Rodarte dress....

hanging on gold encrusted hangers.

The Gucci Alpaca Gilet would be resting on my gilt settee...

Alongside this other Gucci Stole...

and those perfectly blushy Guiseppe Zanotti Studded Pumps would be sitting comfortably below.

Naturally, all of my sparkly things would have their own spot...wouldn't you just die for that Forzieri clutch?  I would.
Wouldn't throw the tiara, bracelet or earrings out of bed for crackers either.

PS, the total budget for this princess pretty....

about $75,000

Totally doable;)

Make sure you click HERE and see everyone's costume creations....lots of fabulous!

Happy Friday!

Oh and one more thing...don't forget to enter my Saffron Marigold giveaway...I'll be drawing for the winner tomorrow!

Jenny's Favorite Things Part 2!

Get excited! It's another Favorite Things give away HERE!!

seriously this blog is such a good place for me to come and daydream.....b/c my real life is so polar opposite.  it's not the easiest being a mom that works from home (and sometimes i get jealous of my husband as he leaves for work).  my youngest is going through a stage...a stage we don't remember w/ taylor.  he's very needy, he gets mad, and yes- he might hit (i said it....usually just me though...but sometimes others).  trying to send emails w/ a child that is crying next to you is not that luxurious...and i guarantee you i don't look glamourous when i am answering phone calls....i'm probably mouthing to my 4 yr old that i am on the phone and she has to wait to talk, wiping my child's nose, getting someone a sippy cup, or shutting myself in the bathroom so i can carry on an adult conversation.....either way, i love being a mom and i am thankful to have this blog as a way to daydream:)  thank y'all so much for still coming to visit....i am so glad to have you in my life!  xo- shannon

MFAMB in the House

It's here, it's here.

My Jenny original.

And it's GORGEOUS!

I've named her Maxine.

She hasn't found her forever home yet...thinking right above the bed in our master might be the spot...we shall see.

For now, I had to share some close ups I took of Maxine- she really is a beauty.

And here she is in full {both vertically and horizontally...she's not sure which way she likes to be yet;}

Please excuse the dead roses in the above shot.

Focus on Maxine.

She's just SO damn pretty.

As you can see....Miss Jenny in not just painting for shits and giggles.

Turns out she's BEYOND talented.

And sweet too.

Total girl crush material.

If you were smart, you'd commission a Jenny original of your own before she gets real famous and you can no longer afford such fabulousness.

This lady is going to big places.

Trust me.

And PS, after my Saatchi Online post yesterday, I'm on even more of a ginormous original art kick.

I've been contacted by 3 of the artists already.

God I love talented people who are also nice.

So refreshingly awesome.

All this art is making my shitballs week turn pretty.

Thank you artists.

Thank you Jenny!!!

Art Discovery - Saatchi Online

I have a new amazesauce art resource to share.

And you're welcome in advance...this is reeeeel good.

Aka...art heaven....an online shop dedicated to new and upcoming artists, that allows you to create your own collections and search already curated compilations.
And what's more, once you've found something you're in love with, you have the option of print size or original...brilliant.
Oh and not only that, but if you have a specific idea in mind but don't have the time to look,  you can email Saatchi Online and they'll pull pieces for you...how delicious is that?

Here's a sampling of some pretties I found while immersed in the site....

I think you can probably guess what I was searching for...yup...that would be pink.
Stick to what you love ya'll;)

And speaking of looking for pretty...the amazing people over at Saatchi Online curated a collection in my honour...this blows my mind...right now as we speak, there's a Bijou and Boheme file.

Here's a little peak at some of my favourites, starting with this first piece that I MUST own...
{40x55 original...$2700...art fairy...I think you really want to bring me this}

{Rodney Black- Figure in Landscape 2}

I also want the beauty above...like alot.

If you feel like getting lost in gorgeous artwork for a few hours or like 20, make sure you visit
Saatchi Online.

And PS, this site is yet another reason why NO ONE should be buying mass produced crap.
Most of the pieces above are available in print version for less than $100.

Bliss.

And since we're on the topic of art, the divinely gorgeous piece of loveliness I commissioned from the Jenny {who PS, is insanely talented,} just arrived yesterday.

Cue the 'If you're happy and you know it' soundtrack.

I'll post photos pictures of the gorgeousity tomorrow.
For now, I'll just say that the painting is BEYOND and I'm quite sure Ms. Jenny will have her work featured on sites like Saatchi VERY soon.

And one more thing...I'm sorry I've been a little MIA lately...I've had a rough few days and just need a little time to zone out etc.
I promise to be back around saying hello very soon.

Love U.

Fancy Fridge

I'm running out the door, but wanted to say a big THANK YOU for all the living room submissions. I'm a little blown away by how many we got and I can't wait to look through all the emails this week! Thanks again, this will be fun.

I'm renting a car today to buy some finishing materials outside the city for a bedroom that is getting photographed this weekend. I can't wait to share the photos with you the first week of November hopefully.

In the meantime I thought I'd share some clever ugly fridge cover up ideas from around the web. I will always love Nick Olsen's Brunschwig wallpaper solution.

And how can you go wrong with a chevron chalkboard?

My friend here has a great prewar apartment, but her refrigerator looks a little prewar too :) so we're going to cover it up. The cork option HERE is my very favorite I think. I don't really need to cover up our fridge, but I would do it anyway. It looks amazing and seems more functional than the regular magnet situation.

Have a great day and see you back here tomorrow. xx
