Project Zhush - Bedroom Re-Design

Morning.

I've got a VERY exciting day ahead- can't say why at the moment but trust me when I say, it's a big one for yours truly.

Since I'm a big teaser unpleaser on that front, I thought could at least attempt to make up for it by showing you  the new bedroom plans a la...

As you may recall, A from A and I had previously come up with this...

...soft, pretty, feminine, romantic.

Now as much as I love this plan, after reflecting on the combined bathoom/office scheme...

...my brain went into hyper-overdrive 'I want to change everything and go bold' mode.

But just before we get to that, can we talk about that bathroom black/gold chair on the right of the bath plan...just found it and it's KILLING ME SOFTLY.

Adore.

Moving on.

Bedroom.

This is now what I'm thinking....

Must Haves:

1. Hand painted/graffiti walls in pink
2. Lots of black - in this scheme A from A's grey/white vanity goes black/gold
3. Graphic fabric - PS, that Kubus by Pierre Frey makes my heart sing
4. Lots of art
5. Gold
6. Pop of orange
7. Mirror
8. A bit  Copious amounts of sparkle - Moroccan blanket and Venini chandelier thank you please

So what do you think?

Are you up for seeing bold balls in the bedroom?

House Cleaning

Morning friends.

I've got a few little updates to share.

1. I've done a little blog clean-up just to organize a bit.

I'm working on a big professional overhaul but in the meantime, you can find things like a link to my shop, e-design service info and  an Instagram house tour on the right sidebar.

2. I PROMISE that Wink of Pink will be opening in the next few days. I had a little frame purchasing hick-up, which has delayed it a little but soon...swear.

3. I put together this Mad Men inspired mood board for my fabulous sponsor Black Rooster Decor last week and haven't yet linked over so have a look...

...and click HERE to find the sources for all this yumminess.

4. #3 leads me to this point...I'm ready and sooooo willing to put together a room just for you like the one above- if you're interested in a little e-design...

...have a look at the link on the right...you'll find samples of my work and rates etc.

EMAIL ME!!!!

5. See those shelves in that pretty board above...well...I came across this DIY on Pinterest yesterday and am going to pitch the idea to my #1 client, A from A...

...a big thank you to Ana Antunes for the idea...I might have to whip a set of these up for myself as well...tres fantastique.

#6.  Speaking of A from A, we've had a little change of plans on the #projectzhush bedroom front...I don't want to totally spill the beans on the planski until we get the office all squared away BUT...I literally can't wait to tell you that something like this....

...will be happening.

So effing excited.

7. And finally, many of you commented yesterday that this little wall treatment from Daun Curry was the buz-niss...

I. COULD. NOT. AGREE. MORE

I'm thinking it's time for me to do a little copy-cat design...dare me...I'm pretty sure I'll take that one....soon.

Later lovers.

Project Zhush- For the Win...

Well, after an exhaustive 3 day competition, the people have spoken.

With a clear as rain victory of 39 votes...

...Glasses and Masks is the winner, winner chicken dinner!!!!

I won't say that A from A and I are doing a giant happy dance, but um...we are...it was our favourite choice as well so thanks to you, Ms. A is one jazzed camper and I am one semi-relieved e-designer.

I should give honourable mention to the 2nd and 3rd place finishers...Dog Walkers was numero deux with 16 votes and Paris Shops was next with 13.

Thank you to everyone for taking part in the fun- since you did such a swell job, A from A will be asking for your help again very soon...after the office is done, we're moving to the boudoir and I promise, beaucoup fun is coming in there...whispers, Ms Jenny from MFAMB is even taking part in a little project...stay tuned:)

Happy Saturday art pickers.

Project Zhush - The VOTE

As per yesterday's post (see HERE,) it's vote time.

I'd like you to choose which art will go in A from A's office.

A little background info...the office is not large...

...see the arrow spot, that's it.

So picture if you will....skirted desk the entire width of the space with a venetian mirror above and sconces on either side.

The artwork is needed for each of the side walls.

Are you with me?

Ok...here are your choices...I actually had more but narrowed them down to 10 while I uploaded...

#1 - Flamingos

#2 - Animal Fiends

#3 - Outdoors In

#4 - Paris Shops

#5 - Glasses and Masks

#6 - Dog Walking

#7 - Abstract

#8 - Say it with Flowers

#9 - The British are Coming

#10 - Ladies

So there you go...10 to pick from.

Oh and one more piece of info, there will also be two pieces from my fabulous sponsor,
Sarah Swanson/Gallery Wall in the mix as well - thinking of putting them under the sconces...

I figured that could/might impact your choice.

Happy voting - I'll announce the winning selection on Saturday.

Thanks chums.

Project Zhush- An Office Update

Morning friends.

Let me start this post with a ginormous thank you for all the kind words yesterday- as I suspected, you all know how to make a girl feel really swell...beyond appreciated...truly...y'all light up my life;)

I'm hoping to launch the store officially next week...stay tuned.

In the meantime, I've got a....

...update/plea for help.

As you may remember, this was the design plan for the office...

...things were moving right along until A from A's landlord said 'no wallpaper allowed' and we both cried.

Thankfully, A from A is brilliant.

She emailed me with this idea....

...to which I said. 'hell yes'...and so she got buuuuzzzyyyy....

...and then I saw these progress shots and well...died.

It's golder than our original paper choice...i.e....WAY more AWESOME...as she put it, the office is like a little jewel box...heaven...I'm so proud.

So...walls...check.

And in other progress news...our vintage Etsy chair got picked up from the upholsterer and is now very happy in it's pink faux ostrich suit....oh and our dotty fabric arrived...

...it's being made into a skirt as we speak.

Chair and desk...check.

So...all is coming together.

With the big things done, it's time for the accessory hunt.

I originally suggested a pendant light but there's no electrical up there and well, that's just a pain so...I'm thinking these on either side of the mirror instead...

...with pink candles of course.

I'd also LOVE this vintage Vera scarf pillow to happen...

...and this desk lamp too...

...of course, we're going to need some art up in there.

I'd love to see one piece on either side wall.

I showed these Lonny plexi framed swan prints to A from A, after seeing them and almost passing out...

...sadly, they are out of budget...and that's where you come in.

I've put together 8 other art combo possibilities and A from A and I have decided to let YOU CHOOSE!!!

Fun, fun, fun.

I'm going to post the final selection boards tomorrow and then we'll open up the vote...most likes wins and WILL be ordred/installed.

Excited?

I am.

Until tomorrow then...

Project Zhush- Bed and Bath

Good morning friends.

I have to admit to you that my blogging brain is still not quite in sync...I woke up this morning with a little writer's block...considered a story post, since haven't done one of those in yonks but I'm just not feeling witty enough at the moment to make it good.

So...I'm going fail safe....aka...

...updates.

Since I've been away, little really has happened but I do have a few boardski's to share.

After considering the 'it's as good as unicorns and candy sparklers' vase wallpaper, me and A from A came to the sad conclusion that it's just too pricey pants...it's a realization I come to on my own almost daily as I consider umpteen wallpaper choices for my home- why christ does the stuff have to be so damn expensiventee?

PS... apparently I'm in the mood for words/phrases that aren't real today...the expensive one is meant to rhyme with entrĂ©e...me likey.

Moving on.

In an attempt to formulate a plan as delightful as the paper, but with a smaller price tag, I came up with this...

Pink walls (FB pink ground) with gold detail molding.

As a more low key alternative, I also presented this...

...the white moulding version.

Thoughts?

The spoonflower dots fabric from domesticate is most definitely going on the windows...and come hell or high water, those chinoiserie panels will be forthcoming...in acrylic frames thank you please...also, a Moroccan sparkle blanket will also most definitely be had...so happy to see such pretty ones at our friend Amber's shoppe!

Now...along with the bedroom ideas, I also sent A from A a little bathroom inspiration.

We decided early in the game that the en-suite was to be moody/dark glam...a good counterpoint to the bedrooms pretty glam;)

So...here's the first draft...

Black palm wallpaper (domesticate strikes again,) gold over the top fixtures, Persian, gilt chandy, lucite teal bench, art fantastica.

Word.

Project Zhush...ze Bedroom

Goodmorrow friends.

Someone smashed into the back of my car yesterday when I was stopped at a red light...it sucked...made my kids cry and my neck hurt like a son of a...we're all OK though and the silver lining is that I'll get a rented mini-van for a few days while our 7 seater monster gets fixed...I never thought I'd live to see the day when a rented Dodge Caravan would make me happy but such is the phase I'm in;)

In other news...

continues.

Progress on the office is happening and I promise pictures as soon as it's all said and done.

For now, I give you bedroom plans.

This is the before...though I'll tell you, Ali's room is pretty great to start with...

That glowing orb in the giant Venini goodess we scored months ago at some Jewish good will like store...I think we paid $200 for it and well, it's reeeeeal good.

The furniture is all staying, though I have something up my sleeve for the end tables...A from A doesn't know of this yet...surpriskis;)

This pretty vanity is also a part of the mixology...

The plan for the boudoir began as a pink/red scheme after I found a delightful pair of red campaigns on Etsy and this GP&J fabric, which I'm batty about...

...can you just see that loveliness as curtains?

Fudgepacker it would be good.

Anyhoo...the first draft plan was this...and please ignore the white backgrounds on everything...this one was done mid-computer breakdown number 'god knows how many'...

This plan was A from A boyfriend approved but sadly, the red chests sold and well, they wouldn't have fit in the room anyway so...back the drawing board.

After a few back and forths, we decided on no extra furniture, aside from a vanity chair...just walls, curtains, art, accessories, etc.

And in the intern, A from A also sent me some inspiration shots...

...so I got back to work {once my computer was replaced with you know...one that works} and came up with this revised goodness...

Key points:

Pink wallpaper...and PS, are we not SO excited that this amazing print now comes in pink? I AM!

Moroccan blanket with sparkles.

Domesticate dotty fabric for curtains.

Large vintage gilt mirror.

Vintage chair for vanity.

Chinoise panels framed in acrylic.

Great pastely art from Kerry Steele.

Albino peacock...sidenote...A from A want are both chomping at the bit for one of these beauties...thinking Christmas presents...as the Secret protests, if we put it out there, it will happen...any taxidermists out there who might want to donate one/two to the cause, you know where to find me;)

Anyhoo....this bedroom plan/scheme is happening.

If any wallpaper suppliers want in on the action, we'd be happy to blog about you in exchange for a paper discount;)

God...I'm begging all over the place today- ha!

Oh and also...an amazing artist and consultant named Megan Peter contacted me last night with some pieces she thought I might like...how amazing is that?

One in particular caught my eye and god willing, if it's available in print form...well...it MUST make an appearance in Casa A from A and perhaps Casa Me...it's just that good...

COULD. YOU. DIE?

I could.

Will Cotton...you're a genius and pleeeeeeaaaaassssseeee tell me you print things so us poppers can afford them.

Peace out lovers.
